'Black Magic' by Thomas Giddings http://homotography.blogspot.com/2011/01/black-magic-by-thomas-giddings.html#more
I recently viewed the film 'Black Swan' - with all the great reviews, comments and praise.
Yes, the film was GOOD...
However, it has made me more aware of how fragile a society we view and interpret the themes that the film portrayed. How we lack sophistication or awareness when it comes to the arts and sexuality.
I interpreted the film as obsession about perfection; where Nina's black swan alter ego psychologicaly takes over when her environment or situation are challenged by what most of society are conditioned to think and react - to be care free - que sera sera.
Genius on some parts - not the capsule powder, not the bar, or dance floor or Tom and Jerry, or jealousy.
NO kd lang or Ellen act actually occurred? The general public
reaction to the lesbian act I found common and hilarious, the remarks made very pedestrian, coming from both genders is interesting and insulting.

It was all about one mind - obssesed with achieving PERFECTION.
Anyone with a creative mind and forward thinkers among us should relate.
Minus the subject matter that mainstream society enjoys'.'Today Tonight" type of material – to get the status quo in to see the film.
It was a wonderful film on one dimension of the arts.
Walking out after the film; I did not want to eat. I wanted veins protruding and dry tight skin.
How very am I?
The film is not for a cinema like Hoyts or Village. A child was ushered out crying around 35 minutes into the film and people with i Phones - really; they should push it inside let it penetrate and on vibrate with your mother watching (Barbara Hershey was great). The etiquette of people?? Anyhow; another story.
It is an art house film – we should have gone to Kino or Nova.
Not everything is for public comsumpsion.

Just one observation to human conditions...
